Access at Auchmore, and on this website
We would rather tell you plainly what the buildings are like than have you arrive to a surprise. Please phone us if anything here is unclear.
Getting to us
Auchmore is reached by a private, unlit, partly unsurfaced single-track road of about one mile. It is bumpy in places. A car is effectively necessary.
The apartments
Lawers and Tarmachan are on the first floor and are reached by stairs. They are not suitable for wheelchair users or for anyone who cannot manage a flight of stairs with luggage.
The Stables is on the ground floor, first on the right inside the courtyard, with parking directly outside the door and an open-plan living space. We have not had it formally assessed as wheelchair accessible, and the courtyard surface is not smooth, so please phone us to describe what you need and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.
None of the apartments has a wet room or level-access shower. Lawers has a bath with a shower over and a separate shower cubicle; Tarmachan has a bath with a shower over; The Stables has a large shower.
Equipment we can provide
Cots, high chairs and other baby and toddler equipment are available on request at no charge. Tell us at the time of booking so it is ready when you arrive.
This website
We have aimed at WCAG 2.2 AA: text that resizes and reflows, visible keyboard focus, descriptive alternative text on photographs, a skip link, headings in order, and no information carried by colour alone. The photo viewer can be operated with the arrow keys and closed with Escape.
