Everything practical in one place: how availability works, what is included, our house rules, and the licensing information required for short-term lets in Scotland.
Booking direct
We take bookings ourselves rather than through a large agency, which means you deal with the people who look after the apartments. Availability and prices are kept up to date in our online booking system, and you can book there at any hour.
If your plans are unusual — two apartments, a long stay, an awkward arrival time — phone 01567 820646 and we will work it out with you.
Questions guests ask
- How do I see prices and availability?
- Live availability and current prices for all three apartments are held in our booking system. Use any "Check availability" button on this site, choose your dates, and you will see what is free and what it costs. If you would rather talk it through, phone us.
- Is there a minimum stay?
- Lawers and Tarmachan have a minimum stay of three nights. For The Stables, please check the current minimum stay when you look at availability. Changeover days and minimum stays can vary in high season.
- Are children welcome?
- Yes, very. Cots, high chairs and other baby and toddler equipment are available at no extra charge — just tell us what you need when you book so it is in place when you arrive.
- Can I bring my dog?
- We are sorry, but pets are not allowed in any of the apartments.
- Is smoking allowed?
- Smoking is not permitted inside any of the apartments.
- Are the apartments accessible?
- Lawers and Tarmachan are on the first floor and reached by stairs, so they are not suitable for wheelchair users or anyone who cannot manage stairs. The Stables is on the ground floor with parking directly outside; we have not formally assessed it as wheelchair accessible, so please phone us to talk through your needs.
- Is linen provided?
- Yes — all bed linen and towels are provided in every apartment, though you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
- Can we book two apartments for one large party?
- Yes. Lawers and Tarmachan are next door to each other on the first floor and are often booked together, giving up to seventeen beds with separate front doors and kitchens. Phone us and we will check the dates across the apartments with you.
Short-term let licensing
Since 1 October 2022, short-term lets in Scotland must be licensed under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 licensing scheme. Killin falls within the Stirling Council area, so our apartments are licensed under Stirling Council's scheme, and licence numbers must be shown in our advertising.
Safety and insurance
Each apartment has smoke and heat detection, and we ask you to read the fire instructions displayed inside on arrival. Fires and stoves are for the apartment they are in — please never leave a lit stove unattended, and use only the logs provided.
We recommend that guests hold their own travel insurance covering cancellation.
